Celebrating dangerous books!

When this post goes up, I’ll be on the road, heading west to visit my daughter at college. I’ve packed a bag of books, all new to me, and all banned at various times. Here’s the list:

Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five (I adore Cat’s Cradle), Nabokov’s Lolita (can’t believe I’ve never read this), Morrison’s Song of Solomon, and Wright’s Native Son.

I’ve no time to blog about a book a day, so instead I’ll send you to other sites. Today’s is Love YA Lit. Drop by and see what they’re doing to promote the freedom to read.

  1. Slaughterhouse Five is so great! I also loved Cat’s Cradle. I read it while on vacation and left it behind at a hostel for someone else to enjoy. Have fun on the road!
