It’s here again. Whether you call them “banned” or “challenged”, the point is that there are people out there who feel it’s their right to decide what you and your children should be able to read.
So pick up a questionable book (almost anything by Toni Morrison or Kurt Vonnegut, or check here and here for some suggestions) and read it this week.
Share it with someone you love. Ask your local library if they have a copy. Let people know it’s ok to read something that disagrees with you.
If I may be allowed to borrow a catch phrase from the NRA: Ideas don’t kill people, only people kill people.
My choice for this week: William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying.
